  • 30% of the country is forest.
  • To become a New Zealand citizen you have to swear an oath of loyalty to Queen Elizabeth.

Christmas Mufti!

Kia Ora guys, I'm back. Last Friday we had a school Christmas mufti day. This meant that we could come to school, in a Christmas themed style. I wore a: Santa hat, red coloured shirt, a Christmas ribbon on top of my shirt, green shorts and face paint. We didn't do many Christmas themed activities but, we did Jump Jam in all our bright colours. If you came in mufti, this meant you had to bring a gold coin which would go towards the Christmas hampers. At the end of the year, the hampers will go to families in need. Hope you enjoy the pics!

This day was really to see most people put effort into it and dress up. I can't wait for next year, to see what mufti days we'll have.

Tristar Gymnastics

Hi guys, I'm back. This term we were lucky enough to do gymnastics. We started off by every week doing gymnastics in the hall, with either Coach Mo or Coach Misha. This helped us learn more about gymnastics and refresh on somethings. For the past two weeks we have had two sessions down at the Keith Hay Tristar. The first session we split into two different groups. Hauraki was first with Misha. With Misha we did a rotation of: jumping on the tramp, walking along the beam, forward roll on pole and jumping over obstacles. With Mo we played follow the leader that consisted of: Jumping on platform to platform, crawling along beams, jumping into the foam pit, jumping on the tramp and swinging across the mat. The second session I wasn't there but, my friends said it was the same as the first. Hope you enjoy the pics!

This was really fun doing gymnastics because it gave me more skill in athletics and it was great exercise.

My Last Year At Waikowhai Primary School

Hi guys, I'm back. This has been my last year in primary school, and sadly it's coming to an end. I'm feeling a lot of mixed emotions right now, because I feel sad to leave this school but I also am excited to move onto intermediate. I'm looking forward to doing lots of cool new things like: Coding, Basketball and lots of different and exciting things. One thing I'm scared about is being punctual, because at intermediate the bell rings at 8:30 AM. I've had a lot of highlights at Waikowhai like: Production, Camp, Tiritiri Matangi and we are going to climb up Rangitoto.
Hope you enjoy the pics!

Summer Learning Journey - Japan

Hi guys, I'm back. We had to chose a country, the countries we chose were from six different continents. I chose Japan. The reason why I chose Japan was because I have never been there and, I heard that the cuisine there was really yum. Another reason was because there is a lot of cool cultural events. Here are some facts about Japan: The population of Japan is 127 million, Japan is made up of 6852 islands, Japan suffers approximately 1500 earthquakes a year, Japan has the highest expectancy in the world with 83.7 years and Japan's criminal courts have a 99% conviction rate.

Bigfoot Bicycle Training!

Hi Guys, I'm back. for two days we were learning and refreshing, on how to ride bikes. The first day we just learned about the safety of biking. The first thing we talked about was the type of clothing you wear, like: closed toed shoes, non baggy pants, t-shirt and you legally have to wear a helmet. Then we talked about the bike. One thing we checked up on, was the four point check. This meant to: check your brakes, air in your tyres, reflectors and your tyre lever. Then we actually got on our bikes. First we needed to fit into our helmets. Then we got onto our bikes and rode around the field. Afterwards, we rode around the court a couple times and then stopped for lunch. When lunch finished we got onto our bikes again, and did relays on the school field. Then we rode along the court and high-fived the instructors, while pedalling. Here are some photos.

Pasifika Peter Pan

Hi guys, I'm back. Last week we had our school production. We had three shows that were on Wednesday night, Thursday night and a Friday matinee. This was outstanding and gave us experience on stage. This week we have been reflecting on it, by making six thinking hats. The six thinking hats are information, positive, negative, feelings, creativity and reflection.
Hope you enjoy!

Production was amazing, because I had been in production before but I was never in the main cast. I thought that this work was quite easy, but was challenging with the blue hat.
